Light scarifying of the green following moss treatment in the form of lawn sand applied a couple of weeks ago. The moss has been a pain this winter, as it has on a lot of greens around the country, according to Facebook posts. Difficult to control successfully as a lot of products have been removed from use, and using Iron Sulphate to kill the moss unfortunately lowers the pH level of the soil making it too acidic for the fine grass to thrive. So quite a balancing act is needed and Dan Swift is working hard to achieve this, so that the green is ready for when we are able to get back out on the green safely again.
